.SYNOPSIS...03/401 AM.

Above normal temperatures are expected through the week, peaking
this weekend with highs in the 70s and 80s. Night into morning low
clouds and patchy dense fog will be possible across the coasts
through Wednesday morning. Otherwise, skies will have variable
high clouds at times, with no rain expected through the end of
next week. A return of gusty Santa Ana winds are possible later in
the weekend into early next week.

.SHORT TERM (TDY-THU)...03/358 AM.

Benign weather continues to be the story this week. High clouds
are currently streaming over LA and Ventura counties bringing
partly to mostly cloudy skies this morning. Low clouds and patchy
dense fog are making an appearance this morning, mainly across the
Central Coast and into the Santa Barbara Channel. Low clouds and
fog are struggling to form under the higher level clouds for
Ventura and LA coast, but remain a possibility this morning.
Marine layer clouds are possible each night for the coastal areas
each night into morning through Thursday morning, with dense fog
not out of the question each night.

Light offshore flow is expected each night into morning, with a
reversal to weak onshore flow each afternoon through Thursday. As
with the last few days, local gusts of 15 to 25 mph continue this
morning for the offshore wind-favored mountains and canyons.

High temperatures each day will be well above normal inland and near to
slightly below normal at the coasts through Thursday. Slight day
to day changes are expected, with temps generally in the mid 60s
to mid 70s, though high 70s in the warmest valleys. Slight cooling
is possible across coasts and valleys on Wednesday as the
offshore flow is weakest, then Thursday will kick off a warming
trend through the weekend as offshore gradients start to lightly
strengthen again.

.LONG TERM (FRI-MON)...02/139 PM.

Building high pressure over the eastern Pacific along with light
offshore flow will combine with bring warmer temperatures the
latter half of the week and into next weekend. By Friday and
Saturday expecting most valleys to reach the low to mid 80s and
70s for most coastal areas more than a couple miles from the
beach. There will be some breezy northeast winds at times, mainly
in the mountains and through some canyons.

Beyond that there remains a big disparity in the models early
next week as some of the ensemble members show an inside slider
dropping through the Great Basin while others are more progressive
with the pattern. Will likely see many model changes between now
and then, but for now there is a chance for another strong Santa
Ana event next Monday. No rain expected at least through the
middle of next week. However, slightly more than half of the
ensemble solutions show some rain around the middle of the month.

.AVIATION...03/0519Z.

At 0448Z at KLAX, the marine layer was 700 ft deep with an
inversion up to 1200 ft with a maximum temperature of 20 C.

High confidence in KPMD, KWJF, KVNY and KBUR.

Moderate confidence in all other sites. For coastal sites through
17Z Tue, there is a chance of periods of dense fog with VSBY as
low as 1/4SM-1/2SM. Fog is favored for much of the night for KSBP
and KSMX, with a 40% chance at KOXR. There is a 30% chance of
several hours of BKN002-BKN006 cigs forming at KSBA between
until 17Z Tue, and a 20-30% chance of no flight cat restrictions
forming through the night for KPRB, KCMA, and KSMO.

Cigs that form may scatter and clear out on occasion due to high
cloud interference.

KLAX...Moderate confidence in TAF. Arrival of cigs may be off by
up to 3 hours, and once cigs do form, there is a 20% chance of
periods of dense fog with VSBY as low as 1/4SM-1/2SM. No
significant east wind component expected.

KBUR...High confidence in TAF.

.MARINE...03/348 AM.

In the outer waters, confidence is somewhat lower than it has been
recently. There is a 30% chance of Small Craft Advisory (SCA)
level wind gusts during the afternoon thru evening hours today
and Wed, especially in the southern two zones (PZZ673/676). There
is a 30-40% chance of SCA level winds Thu thru Sat night, mainly
during the afternoon into the early night hours.

In the inner waters north of Pt. Sal, and in the inner waters
south of Point Conception, SCA conds are not expected, except for
a 30% chance of SCA level NE winds nearshore from Ventura to Santa
Monica during the late night thru morning hours Thu night thru Sat.

Patchy dense fog will affect the coastal waters this morning,
with perhaps more widespread dense fog across the waters late
tonight/Wed morning, and again late Wed night/Thu morning.
